Event Description

OPEN GRAND PRIX: This is very similar to the Grand Prix event, but is not based on a single booking from an organised group. Instead, you can enter independently and will be assigned to teams by the race organisers.

As with the Grand Prix, exclusive use of the track is granted to between 16 and 60 drivers. The event comprises four heats of four laps each. According to the number of points scored at each heat, the best 12 drivers go through to two semi-final heats, each comprising five laps. The top three drivers from each semi-final go through to a six lap final.

Light refreshments are available. Catering is available on request.

The itinerary for the event is as follows:

  1. Selection of race suits, helmets, gloves and balaclavas.
  2. Briefing, safety instruction and kart familiarisation.
  3. Practice Laps.
  4. Heats.
  5. Semi-finals.
  6. Finals.
  7. Presentation of medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

Other Notes

You'll need to be aged 16 or over to race in this event.

You'll need to wear a pair of strong, practical shoes to race. Trainers are ideal. All other equipment, including overalls, driving gloves and a helmet, will be provided for you.

Due to the structure of this event there is a minimum of 16 drivers required.
